In one study, two nurses who pinned small drop of lavender oil on their clothes helped them in easing their stress, while those who didn’t feel more stressed. Lavender also has the ability to intensify the effect of painkillers and anti-anxiety drugs, so if you are taking any of it, then better consult with your doctor.

Reboot Your Breath

Feeling less stressed is closely linked to your breath. Focusing on your every breath can curb your body’s -fight and flight- response to fear and pressure, and it also pulls away from your attention from the negative thoughts. Sit peacefully at some comfortable, quiet place. Try breathing gradually through your nose, letting your chest and your abdomen to bulge out. Then in same fashion breathe out slowly, chanting a word or some phrase that helps you to relax. To get the maximum benefit, repeat it for at least 10 minutes.

Be Kind to Yourself

We all have that constant stream of thoughts that keep our heads noisy and stressed. Staying positive is not so easy but having a compassionate self-talk can help you to calm down and hold a better grab on the situation. Talk to “yourself” in the same compassionate manner, the way you would encourage your friend in need. Like “Everything will soon turn out to be OK,”  or “I can figure out how to handle this situation.”

Write Your Stress Away

Writing down your emotional thoughts is one of the best emotional outlets. Once you start writing on the paper, you can plan out how to resolve them. It hardly matters whether you prefer a notebook and pen, or you scribble on a phone app. The essential thing is that you should be honest with your feelings.

Tell a Friend

Whenever you feel overwhelmed, call your some old friends or loved one and get out with them. Have a pal who is also dealing with the same situation as you? Then you pretty more reasons to open up. You will both feel less aloof.

Get Moving

When you workout till you sweat, you are not only keeping your body fit but it will also help in improving your mood, and clear your head, giving you a break from whatever is troubling your mind. Whether you like going for a long walk or doing an intense exercise at the gym, your mood will feel uplifted afterward every shot.
